Hit The Mark Theatre was formed in 2016 and born out of a desire to create opportunities for young people and their families to participate in arts and culture, regardless of their socio-economic profile. As our company has evolved, we have developed a clear vision and mission which underpins all of our thinking, work and projects.
OUR VISION: To create innovative and accessible arts and cultural provision for young people and their families which has theatre at its heart and participatory activities at its soul. At all stages of our process, we work to remove the barriers to access and provide more opportunities for young people and their families to take part in art and culture. We are driven by a desire to ensure the work we create and produce is inclusive, created in collaboration with our audiences and always complimented by participatory activities and digital aspects.
OUR MISSION: - To cultivate individual and community creativity, - To collaborate with amateur, voluntary and professional partners to create wholesome, impactful and diverse work. - To seek out relationships with new audiences with a focus on the disengaged. - To understand and consult with our audiences at all stages of the development process from inception through to delivery. - To utilise new technology to open up new avenues of creativity and experience. - To proactively forge relationships with those who feel disengaged with arts and culture. - To use participatory activities to develop creative individuals and communities in the towns, villages and cities we visit in person and via digital opportunities.
At all times we will consider how we can reduce the environmental impact of our work. We want to create work today which ensures others can do so tomorrow. THEATRE FOR ALL: - To ensure equality of access, we are committed to providing a number of free and low-price tickets for the most vulnerable and in-need. Theatre for all not for some.
